Progress of Ultra High Density Apple plantation in Jammu Division reviewed

 

JAMMU : The progress of plantation under Ultra High Density Apple scheme in Jammu division was today reviewed by Managing Director, NAFED Sanjeev Chadha in presence of Director Horticulture Officer, Ram Savak.

The meeting attended by all the Chief Horticulture Officers of Jammu Division discussed various pros and cons of the ultra high density scheme with the officers and empanelled agencies.

The Chief Horticulture Officers apprised the Managing Director about shortcomings noticed by them during plantation of Ultra High Density Apple. Sudhir Chadha, Indo Dutch Horticulture Technology, Empanelled agency assured that the shortcomings will be taken care of in the second phase of plantation.

Director Horticulture also discussed various schemes of fruit plants viz. Mango, Guava, Citrus, Dragon and Kiwi for Modified High Density Plantation for Sub- tropical Region with Chief Horticulture Officers and other committee members for their finalization. District-wise Physical and financial achievements in context to area expansion under high density plantation and other components under various schemes of the Department were also discussed with the participants.

The meeting was attended by Joint Director Horticulture, Jammu C.L Sharma, representative from SKUAST, Jammu, Chief Horticulture Officers, CCI, MCCs of Jammu Division and Deputy Director (P&S).
