Progress on ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ reviewed in Udhampur
Udhampur: The progress of Jal Jeevan Mission scheme in the District was today reviewed here at a meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Mohammad Syed Khan.
At the outset, Superintendent Engineer, Hydraulic Circle Udhampur, P.P Arora, gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the progress and role of different departments for effective implementation of the scheme in the district. He explained the plan for harvesting of rain water in all Government offices.
Speaking at the meeting, the ADC said that the Jal Jeevan Mission is centrally sponsored scheme launched by the Government of India with the objective to provide 100 percent tap water to all the households across the District. He asked all the officers present in the meeting to ensure the rain water harvesting initiative is implemented. He stressed on IEC activity for involvement of general public in water conservation.
The NYK Coordinator presented the action plan under catch the rain campaign. He said that 50 villages are selected for IEC activities like Education and motivation programme /webinars knowledge competition, wall writing and oath taking ‘Clean village Green village’. ADC stressed on behavioral change and asked NYK to design some questionnaires for localities.
Among others, Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Viqar Giri, DFO, Shaveta Jandial, District Social Welfare Officer, Er Sajad Bashir Somberia, Xen PHE, Taj Choudhary and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
