PSPS Govt. P.G College for Women Gandhi Nagar organises seminar on “Cybercrime: Threats, Challenges & Preventions”

JAMMU : Department of Computer Applications Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Govt. P.G College for Women Gandhi Nagar Jammu in collaboration with IQAC & NCC organized a seminar on “Cybercrime: Threats, Challenges & Preventions”.

The programme was held under the patronage of Principal Prof. Minu Mahajan and attended by 115 students of the college.

The Resource Person on the occasion was Prof. Rohit Gupta, who stressed on the need for cybercrime awareness with the increased dependence on IT post-pandemic and enumerated the steps that should be taken to secure personal information.

Prof. Rohit Gupta presented a Powerpoint presentation which was about threats and challenges posed by Cybercrimes and trained the students to form good habits around cyber security so that one can stay ahead of cyber threats and online security issues. He further discussed some of the problems which cyber security is designed to address like identity thefts, psychological tricks, social media frauds, digital banking frauds etc.

The whole event was organized by the committee constituted for Cyber Jaagrokta (Awareness) Diwas which includes Prof. Rohit Gupta (Nodal Officer), members’ viz. Dr. Ashok Kumar, Prof. Rajinder Kumar, Prof. Poonam, Prof. Mamta Kundal, and Dr. Javaid Iqbal. Dr Suresh Kumar, Coordinator IQAC, Dr. Rahul Sharma H.O.D Biotechnology and Prof. Sunita Devi H.O.D Social Work also graced the occasion. Lt. Suman Bala ANO 2 J&K Girls Bn. NCC coordinated the whole Programme.
