Public Sector Banks and Insurance Companies to explore employment opportunities for ‘Agniveers’

New Delhi: Ministry of Finance today held a meeting with Chief Executives of Public Sector Banks, Public Sector Insurance Companies and Financial Institutions in New Delhi to identify ways for supporting the Agniveers after completion of their tenure of duty in Armed Forces.

During the meeting, it was decided that all these financial institutions would explore employment opportunities for ‘Agniveers’ in suitable capacities based on their educational qualifications and skills through suitable benefits and relaxations.

It was also decided that banks would explore possibilities of supporting ‘Agniveers’ through suitable credit facilities for skill upgradation, education for setting up businesses and self-employment.

The existing government schemes such as MUDRA and Stand Up India would be leveraged for extending such support to ‘Agniveers’.
