Punjab Government fighting war against corona virus in a systematic & planned way, Balbir Singh Sidhu
Chandigarh: “The Punjab Government led by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, is fighting the war against corona virus in a systematic and planned way and it’s emphasis is on the strengthening of the healthcare infrastructure so as to effectively combat the corona pandemic.” These views were expressed here today by the Health and Family Welfare Minister, Punjab, and Mohali MLA Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu.
The minister said that the State Government is making earnest efforts to tackle the pandemic and Punjab was the first state in the country to impose curfew after seeing the gravity of the situation.
He further elaborated that the sincere efforts being made by the Punjab Government have resulted in the containment of corona to a considerable extent and furthermore, in order to ensure that the common people don’t face any problem in meeting their daily needs, essential items such as Medicines, Fruits, Vegetables, Milk have been supplied at their very doorsteps. Also, taking a compassionate view of the condition of the people belonging to the weak and the poor sections of the society, ration and food packets containing Atta, Rice, Dal, Ghee etc.
The minister further added that till date a total of 284431 People have been tested in the State out of which 5056 Have been found positive while A total of 3320 persons have recovered.
Mr. Sidhu also said that the campaign under Mission Fateh to defeat corona virus would continue in future also with full zeal and commitment and solicited the support of the people. He also expressed confidence that Punjab would soon emerge victorious in the war against corona virus.
