Queen’s University Belfast: Students benefit from Centenary Awards and Pathway Opportunity Programme

The funding is part of the NI Centenary Scholarship and Bursary Awards allocated to Queen’s and Ulster University, and will help provide financial support to students from challenging backgrounds.

Welcoming the bursaries, Queen’s University Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Greer said: “We are very proud of the impact of our Senior Academy and Pathway Opportunity Programme, and the support it offers to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to access university life. This is no easy task and the successful students have displayed a high level of determination and resilience to complete their pathway to Queen’s.

We are extremely grateful to the Northern Ireland Office for funding these Centenary Scholarships and Bursaries which will provide financial support to 18 students who have just begun their university education, and look forward to hearing how these awards will help recipients to make the most of their time here at Queen’s over the next few years.”
