Quiz and essay competition on Gandhi Jayanti

Aligarh : Adnan Azmat (Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi) won the first prize in the national-level virtual quiz competition, ‘Bizbrainzz 2.0’, organized by the Department of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University as part of Gandhi Jayanti celebrations.

Jalaj Maheshwari (Institute of Rural Management, Anand, Gujarat) was judged the second while the third prize went to Pulkit Khurana (Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai).

In the essay writing competition on ‘Relevance of the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi in the 21st Century’, Syeda Fatima (Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi) won the first prize while Laxmi Prasad Boda (Osmania University, Hyderabad) and Medha Garg (Chitkara University, Punjab) were declared second and third respectively.

Consolation prizes were given to Muzammil Arif (Government Degree College, Bhaderwah, Jammu and Kashmir) and Mohd Yaqoob (Faculty of Law, AMU).

Professor Nawab Ali Khan, Chairman, Department of Commerce informed that the winners will be given a cash prize of Rs 3000 and all participants of both the events will receive a certificate of participation. He said that a total of 465 teams participated in the quiz competition while 5 making it to the final round. In the essay competition, 30 essays were received from various colleges and universities from across the country.

Professor BP Singhal (Campus Head, SSJ and Dean, Faculty of Commerce, Kumaun University) and Professor M M Jinnah (Faculty of Commerce, Kumaun University) announced the results in a virtual meet of all participants.

Professor Imran Saleem (Dean, Faculty of Commerce, AMU) appreciated the efforts of the participants, the organizing committee and the teacher coordinator, Dr Naghma Azhar, and congratulated the winners on the big achievement.

Dr Mohd Nayyer Rahman proposed a vote of thanks.
