Aligarh: Sachin Panicker of V M Salgaocar College of Law in Panaji, Goa won the quiz competition, and Saria Afsheen of the Osmania University College for Women, Hyderabad was declared the winner of the essay competition organised by the Law Society, Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
Sachin and Saria were also given cash prizes of Rs 1000 and 600 respectively.
Avnish Kumar Singh, The West Bengal National University of Judicial Sciences, Kolkata secured the second position with a cash prize of Rs 600 in the quiz competition with Yash Gupta, National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam finished third, winning Rs 400 cash prize.
On the other hand, Aakritie Raj, Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University was announced as the essay competition runner up. She was rewarded Rs 400.
During the online results declaration, Prof Shakeel Samdani, Dean, Faculty of Law encouraged students to participate in more such competitions.
According to the event in-charges, Prof Mohammad Ashraf and Prof M Wasim Ali, the two competitions witnessed 800 registrations of students from all over the country for participations.
Abdullah Samdani, Secretary, Law Society declared the results on a video conference platform.
