RAI is organizing a Job Fair to provide internship opportunities for students of its Retail course with IGNOU
New Delhi: Retailers Association of India (RAI) in association with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has organised a Job Fair for the students of the distance learning graduation course in Retailing to give them exposure and enhance their employability in retail sector. The Job Fair is being organised at the IGNOU Headquarter, New Delhi on the 9th & 10th of June 2022.
RAI in collaboration with IGNOU has been at the forefront of encouraging youth to pursue careers in the retail industry and has set up a comprehensive distance-learning graduation programme through IGNOU that includes periodic coaching sessions, guidance and internship opportunities with leading retailers. In the year 2021, over 3,000 enrolments were received for this curriculum.
Over 1200 students are expected to participate in this Job Fair that is seeing the participation of about 20 top retailers in the country like Arvind Lifestyle Brands Ltd, Infiniti Retail Ltd (Croma), Jubilant Foodworks, Marks and Spencer, Reliance Retail, and Metro Cash and Carry, to name a few.
Speaking about jobs in the Indian retail industry, Kumar Rajagopalan, CEO, Retailers Association of India (RAI), said “We believe that employment in the retail sector will increase by as much as 25% in the next five years. It is therefore important to make good talent ready for the industry and also attract more talent to the retail industry.”
The Retailers Association of India (RAI) constantly engages with multiple stakeholders across sectors and value chains to further the interests of the Indian retail industry. As one of the largest retail associations in the country, RAI believes that collaboration among different stakeholders including government, financial institutions, industry bodies, businesses and even customers will be key in stimulating growth and recovery.
