Raipur ; Durg adorned with Chhattisgarhi Folk Art: Chief Minister inaugurates Lok Kala Marg

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated Chhattisgarh Lok Kala Marg in Durg today. Path between Civil Lines and Dada-Dadi-Nana-Nani Park in the city has been adorned with tableaus of Chhattisgarhi folk dances such as panthi, sua and raut nacha. Other than landscaping on the roadside, statues of ‘kumhar’ and farmers have also been made. Roads have been repaired and renovated and foothpath has been made for pedestrians. To motivate people towards health and fitness, statues depicting various asanas of Surya Namaskar have been put on display. In this inaugural programme, PWD Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Chhattisgarh Warehouse Corporation Chairman Mr. Arun Vora, Mayor Mr. Dheeraj Bakliwal and Municipal Corporation Speaker Mr. Rajesh Yadav.

To make pedestrians aware of Chhattisgarhi art and culture, Chhattisgarhi Lok Kala Marg has been developed at a half kilometer stretch at the cost of nearly Rs 58 lakh. At the cost of Rs 31 lakh sanctioned by MLA Mr. Arun Vora from MLA fund, various artefacts based on Chhattisgarhi culture have been displayed. Municipal Corporation has built statues based on various asanas of Surya namaskar at the cost of Rs 27 lakh.
