Rajouri adjudged best district in implementing Nasha Mukt Bharat

RAJOURI : The spirited efforts of the District Administration Rajouri in the successful implementation of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan have received appreciation from the Central Government and UT Administration.
District Rajouri has been adjudged as the best district in implementing the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan and his team has been felicitated by the Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Virinder Kumar in an award ceremony held at SKICC Auditorium at Srinagar.
Achieving this feat was not a one day work but the continuous and dedicated efforts by the team of the district administration.
District Administration is working on a multi-pronged strategy for the welfare of the youth and to enable them to achieve the best and live a respectful life in society.
All possible efforts are being made to curb the menace of drug abuse in the district to keep the youth on the right track.
Series of awareness programs and many sports-related and other activities are being held regularly to channelize the potential of the youth towards a positive direction and also to keep them away from drug addiction.
The Social Welfare Department Rajouri has been playing a significant role in monitoring all aspects of drug abuse prevention which include assessment of the extent of the problem, preventive action, dissemination of information and public awareness.
The PRI members in all the 312 Panchayats of the district have also been roped in to generate awareness among the masses about the ill effects of drug abuse on health and economic status. They are educating the youth about the negative effects of drugs on their health and economy.
Youth are appreciating the tireless endeavours of the District Administration in eradicating the menace of drug abuse and are participating with great enthusiasm in different activities like trekking expedition, Himalayan bike rally, cultural events etc being organised by the Dist Adm from time to time.
The team of the District Administration-backed with the active support of the PRIs, youth and general public has worked religiously to ensure the successful implementation of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in the district.
