Rajouri admin hosting 2 day mega cultural fest, Shakermarg trekking

RAJOURI : District Administration Rajouri is going to host a 2 day mega Cultural festival this month end to promote and showcase local heritage and culture.

Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh K Shavan today convened a meeting of the concerned officers and finalized the arrangements for the smooth and successful conduct of the mega cultural fest to be held on 28th and 29th of August.

ADC, Sachin Dev Singh; CEO RDA, Vivek Puri; ACR, Tahir Mustafa Malik; Registrar BGSBU;CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; District Culture Officer, Dr Alam Dar; DIO, Narinder Kumar; AD Tourism, Ambika Bali besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.

The meeting was informed that the local artists, as well as the artists from outside UT would participate in the event. The event will include a cultural programme to be organised in the Lawns of the PWD Dak Bungalow and a Mushaira which will be held in the auditorium of the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed on the need for the promotion of the local culture saying that the culture contributes a sense of comfort and belonging and brings families together and enables people to reconnect with each other.

The Deputy Commissioner called upon the concerned officers to work in coordination and cohesion for the smooth conduct of the 2-day event. He emphasized on making all the requisite arrangements well in advance and formulating a viable plan for organizing the commemorative activities for the event.

The Deputy Commissioner also asked for ensuring strict adherence to COVID related SOPs during the event to avoid COVID19 Infection risk.

Arrangements for the five day Shakermarg trekking and organising mela there were also finalized in the meeting.
