Rajouri administration provides 696 pressure-cookers, cooking vessels to Anganwadi centres
Rajouri: To facilitate Anganwadi centres in providing nutrition to the children, 696 pressure cookers and cooking vessels were today provided to the Anganwadi workers under Supplementary Nutrition Programme.
Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh gave away the articles to the Anganwari workers in presence of Project Officer ICDS, Sher Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police, Liaqat Chowdhary, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohammad Ashraf, Child Development Project Officer, Mohammad Naseer and others.
Deputy Commissioner said that district administration is committed to take all possible measures to strengthen the Anganwadis and facilitate their smooth and hassle free functioning.
He said that the efforts are being made to equip the Anganwadis with necessary basic facilities to ensure that the workers and helpers don’t find any difficulty in their routine work.
The DC called for encouraging the lactating mothers to feed their children healthy and nutritious food and keep them away from fast foods which badly affect their health. He also asked Anganwari workers to reach every household to spread the importance of nutrition and breastfeeding for the overall health of the children.
