Rajouri DLCW organises awareness event on women centric schemes, laws

Rajouri: District level Centre for Women today organised an awareness programme on the Women Centric Schemes, laws and distributed Stationary and baby kits, here at Panchayat Bathuni.
Women Welfare Officer, Dr. Anum Mirza along with district coordinator MSK, Sanjana Thakur and Rabia Kouser (National Youth Corps) made the participants aware about the dangerous consequences of declining child sex ratio and asked them to work for the safety of girl child and women folk in general.
The participants were made aware about the BBBP campaign, Sukanaya Samridhi Yojana, Janani Suraksha Yojna, Ujwala scheme, one stop centre, women safety laws, women and child helpline number, women welfare schemes, PC and PNDT act and various scholarships. The team also educated the gathering regarding coronavirus precautions.
The team members also urged parents to allow their girls to get a proper education – the best means for their empowerment. They also raised the issue of gender inequality and said that the men and women are the two sides of the same coin.
At the end of the programme, baby kits were distributed among the little and new born girl child order to celebrate their birth and to impart/give a positive message to the community.
Besides this, Dr. Anum Mirza distributed Stationery kits (Notebooks, Pens, Pencils, Sharpners, Erasers, Instrument Box) among the school going poor girls, to impart them a good message of education.
