Rajouri: Operation of 3 medical stores suspended for violation of norms

Rajouri: Operation of Three medical stores was today suspended for violation of norms during an inspection conducted by the Drugs Controller authorities here in Kalakote areas.
To ensure availability of safe, quality & efficacious medicines to the general public , Drugs Controller Officer, Vipin Kachroo carried out the surprise inspections of Kalakote area of District Rajouri as per the mandate of Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940 & Rules there under.
Wholesale Establishments / Retail Pharmacies existing in the area were inspected in special reference to on–spot checking of Sale / purchase records of medicines , hygienic conditions of the premises , maintenance of records in particular to drugs falling under Schedule H, H1& X to the Drugs & Cosmetics Rules, 1945, maintenance of cold storage system for specialized categories of drugs besides ensuring that Habit forming drugs are not sold in violation to the provisions of said Act & Rules.
During the inspection, 3 firms were found violating the mandate of law & their Operations were suspended u/s 22d of said Act.
The operation of Life Care Medicose and Mumtaz Medical Hall was suspended for 2 days, while that of Chanda Medicose was suspended for one day for not maintaining Sale records and record of H1 Drugs.
Further, Statutory Drugs Samples of more than 18 formulations viz Antibiotics, PPI’s , Antipyretics , NSAID etc were lifted for purpose of testing / analysis & referred to Government Analyst – Combined Food & Drug Testing Laboratory for opinion with respect to identity, purity & strength.
On-spot instructions were issued to the local trade fraternity to desist from indulging in unethical trade practices and ensure compliance of conditions of Licenses in letter & spirit. The Medical trade fraternity of twin Districts of Rajouri / Poonch has been impressed to comply with the conditions of Licenses issued in their favor in letter & spirit.
