Rajouri: Rs 15. 91 crore EMR School campus coming up at Gurdhan Balla; DDC inspects progress of work, seeks time bound completion of project

 

RAJOURI : District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, along with District Tribal Officer, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt, today inspected the pace of work on under construction campus building of Eklavya Model Residential School here at Gurdhan Balla.

Eklavya Model Residential School is a central Government scheme for promotion of education among the Tribal communities across India.

While taking stock of the progress on the project, the DDC was informed that the project has been approved at an estimated cost of Rs 15.91 crore. The residential school building would have capacity of accommodating 240 girl students and equal number of boy students.

The DDC said that Eklavya Model school is an ambitious initiative of the Government of India to facilitate the tribal students to get quality education and to enable them to compete with the students of the rest of the country.

He asked the Executing Agency to expedite the work on the project and ensure completion within the set deadline to benefit the tribal students.

The DDC also directed for adhering to the quality parameters while executing the work on the project.
