Rajouri: Rs 22.06 lakh disbursed among workers as 4th installment of Covid relief

Rajouri: To mitigate the sufferings of the labour community amid COVID19 pandemic, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh today disbursed an amount of Rs 22.06 lakh as 4th installment of Covid relief among the construction workers under Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare scheme of the Labour Department.
As per Assistant Labour Commissioner, Angrez Singh the financial assistance is being provided to the beneficiaries through DBT mode.
Giving further details, the ALC said that three installments of COVID-19 relief worth Rs 21.10 lakh were provided to the beneficiaries in the month of March, April and May to enable them to overcome the difficulties amid the Covid crisis.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the Rajouri administration is making every effort to provide much needed help to the construction workers in order to mitigate their sufferings.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner appealed construction workers associated with BRO and other private and Government construction agencies to get themselves enrolled and avail various benefits being provided by the labour department for their welfare under JKBOCWW scheme. Further, he also appealed to the PRI members to help and aware the construction workers of their respective panchayats to get themselves registered with the department.
