Ramadan arrangements reviewed at Kulgam; DDC stresses for strict adherence to Covid-19 SOPs

Kulgam: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review and finalize the arrangements for ensuing holy month of Ramadan.

While addressing the meeting, the DDC instructed the officers to ensure strict adherence of Covid-19 SOPs at all mosques, Shrines, and public places.

He also directed the concerned for the constitution of special market checking squads to keep check on profiteering, hoarding and overcharging by shopkeepers.

Stressing on the uninterrupted power and water supply across the district, the DDC asked PDD and PHE departments to ensure hassle free water and electricity supply to the consumers during the month of Ramadan especially at the Sehri and Iftar times.

Emphasizing on the sanitation and lighting of towns and municipality areas, the DDC directed Executive officers of Municipal Committees to launch special cleanliness drives in the district with focus on roads, lanes, drains and regular lifting of wastage from markets and also installation of more lights in their respective towns.

The meeting among others was attended by ADC Kulgam, DSP-HQ, ARTO, Tehsildars, AEEs of PHE, PDD, EOs, officers from Sheep and Animal husbandry and other Officers besides, Auqaf Committee members and members from trade union also attended the meeting.
