Ramban Admin launches ‘Know Our Administration’ campaign to engage with students

RAMBAN : District Administration, Ramban on Tuesday launched a unique programme “Know Our Administration” for the students of the district to introduce them to the working of Administration and different departments in the government sector.

To mark the launch, a batch of the students from Government Model Higher Secondary School, Ramban were invited for the interaction and were provided an opportunity to attend the meetings chaired by the Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam and Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Sharma, to address the issues of public importance.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Sharma, CPO Dr. Kasturi Lal, CEO, Devanand, ACD, Ashok Katoch, Dy.DEO, Lal Chand, DSHO, Dr. Vikas Gupta, besides other senior officers of district administration were present.

The Deputy Commissioner spent time with the visiting students, besides sensitizing them about the different phases of planning and execution of different schemes, programmes and projects. He also acquainted them about the technological intervention for providing online services of different sectors to the people.

The DC said that such interactions will be made a regular feature to engage with youth & students and to know about their interest areas, concerns and seek their views on several issues pertaining to society, especially the young generation.

“Such practices can potentially motivate the youth of the district to get attracted towards civil services,” he added.

Interacting with the students, the ADDC said that “Know Our Administration” is a platform provided to students where they can discuss wider issues pertaining to Society in an informal way. He said such sessions will also help in changing the behaviour pattern of youth and students worried about visiting higher offices, besides motivating them to become an ambassador of social change.

The students also took part in the meeting, which was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner to formulate a strategy for making ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign a successful event in the district. The students evinced keen interest in different activities and raised queries, which were cleared by the officers on the spot.

The students expressed satisfaction over the initiative taken by the Deputy Commissioner.
