Ramban admin launches week-long activities to celebrate tribal history, heritage

 

RAMBAN: District Administration, Ramban today remembered legendary Tribal Freedom Fighter Birsa Munda on his Birth anniversary, which is being celebrated as Rashtriya Janjatiya Gaurav Divas across the country.

On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal Sharma launched a calendar of week- long activities to celebrate tribal history and heritage.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dhrindra Sharma; Chief Planning Officer, Dr Kasturi Lal; Divisional Forest Officer, Dr Rajan Singh, Chief Education Officer, Vinod Koul; Chief Horticulture Officer VK Gupta; AD Employment Naresh Kumar; Assistant Labour Commissioner, Angrej Singh, DM, SC, ST & OBC Corporation besides several other officers and officials and PRI attended the launch ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, the ADC said that Rashtriya Janjatiya Gaurav Divas is recognizing the efforts of tribal communities in preservation of cultural ethos & promotion of values of bravery and national pride.

He also impressed upon the FR Committees to accelerate the scrutiny process of cases to provide Forest Rights to applicants under Forest Rights Act 2006.

Meanwhile, the officers of different departments involved in the promotion of the welfare of tribal communities highlighted several beneficiary oriented schemes for the welfare of the tribal folke.

District Manager SC, ST and OBC Corporation highlighted the schemes under which bank loans are provided to tribal communities.
