Ramban admin to implement Jal Shakti Abhiyan on Mission Mode

Ramban : District Administration, Ramban, Monday constituted a committee to monitor the implementation of all 14 indicators under Jal Shakti Abhiyan which was launched on March 22 and would culminate on November 30, 2021.

The Chief Planning Officer, Ramban, Dr. Kasturi Lal has been designated as Nodal Officer to submit monthly progress reports by obtaining ATRS from all stakeholder departments including Jal Shakti, Revenue, Planning, Rural Development, Forest, Ecology and Environment, Information, School Education, Youth Services and Sports , Employment, Agriculture and Horticulture on the implementation of Jal Shakti Abhiyan.

All the connected department were urged to involve PRIs and the general public in Jal Shakti Abhiyan to achieve the targets under all indicators like Geo-tagging and inventorisation of water bodies, water harvesting in percolation tanks, pits, check dams, renovation, rejuvenation and construction, desilting of water bodies, afforestation, rain water harvesting, eviction of encroachment from water bodies.

The functioning of defunct ground water units, watershed development, development of micro irrigation system, GIS based watershed plan formulation, reclamation of degraded land and water quality management are the main features of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan.
