Ramban DMC discusses modalities for implementation of Agriculture Infrastructure Fund
Ramban: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today chaired the maiden meeting of District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) to discuss the modalities for implementation of Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) a Central Sector Scheme (CSS) in the district.
During the meeting a threadbare discussion was held on formation and promotion of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO) and Self Help Groups in the District.
Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, CAHO, DSHO, DDM, NABARD and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
It was decided in the meeting that clusters would be formed for different agriculture as well as horticulture crops including rajma, pea, honey, walnut, anardana, sundried/ rind, apple and potato to provide best marketing facility to the farmers.
The DC directed the officers of the line Departments to register farmers in coordination with concerned Block Development Officers to form the FPO across the district. He also directed the CAO to conduct a survey to assess the total production potential of potato and measures needed for improving the same.
