Ramban gets two new JK bank branches at Gandhri, Kanthi

Two more to open at Hala and Rajgarh shortly

 

RAMBAN : Coming as a major relief for the customers, JK Bank today operationalized two new branches here at Gandhri and Kanthi, taking its overall branches to 19 in district Ramban.

Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam, in presence of PRIs and senior officers of Jammu and Kashmir Bank inaugurated the twin Bank Branches at Gandhri and Kanthi area of Tehsil Ramban.

DDC Councilor Gandhri, Shamim Akhter, PRIs, Zonal Head JK Bank, Rajesh Gupta, Cluster Head JK Bank, Subash Chander and other officials of JK Bank were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the opening of these bank branches will provide a major relief to the people in making bank transactions and in availing benefits of various beneficiary oriented schemes of the government.

While congratulating the people, the DC highlighted the importance of bank facility for hassle free transactions and for extending benefits of social security and self employment schemes to the youth.

The DC urged the banking officials to expedite early porting of the account numbers of the local inhabitants from other banks to the newly opened Kanthi and Gandhri branches.

He also directed the concerned officers to extend the benefits of the schemes like Jan Dan Yojna, Mumkin and Tejaswini besides holding awareness camps at both the places to sensitize youth about self employment schemes of various sectors in consultation with local PRIs.

He also sought the support from PRIs in motivating youth, both boys and girls to avail the benefit of schemes. The DC also interacted with the local villagers and impressed upon them strict adherence to Covid appropriate behavior. He also asked them to get themselves vaccinated and registered under the PMJAY SEHAT scheme.

Thanking the Bank authorities for taking its overall branches to 19, besides sanctioning four new branches in the district Ramban out of which two have been opened at Gandhri and Kanthi and two more to be open shortly at Hala and Rajgarh, the DC requested the JK Bank authorities to explore the possibility of establishing ATMs which shall go a long way in cashless transactions.
