Ramban ICDS hosts awareness camp, social & cultural activities at Sanasar to mark Poshan Maah

 

RAMBAN: Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Project, Ramban organised an awareness camp at Sanasar as a part of the ongoing month-long ‘Poshan Maah’ campaign.

The programme was formerly inaugurated by the Chief Guest, District Programme Officer (DPO) ICDS, Ramban, Attar Chand in presence of CDPO, Ravinder Kour, Medical Officer, Dr.Aquib Manzoor, Sarpanch, Krishen Chand, several local Panches and prominent villagers.

On the occasion, the DPO highlighted the importance of healthy food, healthy living style and hygiene and also said that awareness is a key to eliminating Kuposhan from our society. He also exhorted all employees of ICDS to work in coordination to achieve goals and improve the health of children and women by ensuring purchase of quality food items for them and linking them all with Aadhar Numbers.

The CDPO and other speakers also educated the audience including the Anganwadi Workers, Helpers, Supervisors and ASHAs about the importance of the balanced and nutritious diet especially grown with organic manure instead of fertilizers preferably grown in their own kitchen garden-Poshan Vatika.

She also told them to help women avail the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandna Yojna (PMMVY), PM Janani Suraksha Yojna, ensure 100% Covid vaccination, issuance of Golden Cards under Ayushman Bharat PM Jan Arogya Yojna-Sehat and now recently announced Ayushman Bharat Digital Cards.

During the camp, besides a small Poshan Vatika model, pulses, vegetables, fruits, nuts, milk and some food preparations were displayed to showcase them as nutritious food items.

During the programme some children and pregnant women were examined by Dr Aquib and advised them about their diet. A pregnant local lady, Shoba Devi was felicitated through a traditional ritual, ‘Goad Bharai’ by gifting her with a plate of fruits and gifts.

The programme concluded with a ‘Poshan Shapath’ to make every child, adolescent girl, pregnant and lactating women healthy by providing them nutritious diet through Anganwadi Centres.
