Ramban: Nukkad Natak, cultural show held to sensitise tribal people about healthy food

 

RAMBAN : To sensitize the people about holistic nourishment under the aegis of Poshan Abhiyan programme, an awareness camp was today organised by Tribal Research Institute, J&K and Directorate of National Health Mission in collaboration with District Information Centre, Ramban here at the tribal village Chamalwas of block Banihal.

Block Medical Officer, Banihal, Dr, Rabia Khan was the Chief guest, while Sarpanch Chamalwas, Muneer Ahmed Sohil was the guest of Honour . Dr. Basheer, Dr. Ashna, ASHA, Anganwari workers and other PRIs besides a large number of public, especially tribal population attended the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, the BMO said that POSHAN Abhiyaan is a multi-departmental convergence mission with the vision to ensure attainment of malnutrition free India by 2022. The objective of POSHAN Abhiyaan is to reduce stunting in identified Districts with the highest malnutrition burden by improving utilization of key departmental services. The programme aims to ensure holistic development and adequate nutrition for pregnant women, mothers and children.

The Tribal population gathered at the Health Sub Centre, Chamalwas witnessed Nukkad Nataks, cultural programmes and songs especially in Gojri, Kashmiri & Phari Language on Poshan Abhiyan. The programme was conducted by renowned artists including Zia-Ul-Haq , Taraq Ahmed Khatana, Mudasir Mir, Abdual Majid Malik and many others. The audiences applaud efforts of the Government and artists for the impactful initiative taken by NHM J&K, Tribal dept and DIPR for educating their population.
