RDD Doda celebrates Int’l Women’s Day; Felicitates female PRIs, meritorious students, MGNREGA women workers
DODA : As a part of the ongoing Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav, the Rural Development department Doda organised an impressive program on International Women’s Day here at Community Hall.
Vice Chairman DDC, Sangeeta Rani Bhagat; Female BDC Chairpersons, DDC members, SSP, ADDC, PO ICDS, ACD, AC Panchayat, DSWO Doda, besides several officers, Sarpanches attended the program.
In her address, the Vice Chairman DDC advised all women to empower themselves by actively participating in the decision making process and not to restrict themselves to earning livelihood.
The BDC Chairpersons and DDC members listed numerous fields which are being dominated by the women over the time and are performing various activities in the society which were only presumed to be done by males only.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Pran Singh also spoke on the significance of the day and listed the women centric schemes launched by the government for their empowerment. He also urged them to actively participate in the functioning of the administrative setup.
Later, Women from different fields including female PRI members, female Journalists, meritorious girl students and NEET qualifiers were felicitated by the RDD. MGNREGA women workers were provided livelihood under the scheme, besides Chief Guests and other Guest of honours were also given mementos as token of gratitude and appreciation.
