Reasi admin braces up for week long drive to inoculate 100% age appropriate population
Reasi: District Magistrate Reasi, Charandeep Singh, today held a virtual meeting with officers of Revenue, RDD, health and PRIs to chalk out COVID vaccination drive plan to cover left out population in the above 45 year age group in the district.
Among others, the meeting was joined by Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Dr. Anirudh Rai, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Rajiv Sharma, Tehsildars and Block Development Officers of all blocks.
The meeting decided that a week long special vaccination drive shall be held in all blocks of district by involving PRIs, officers of RDD and nodal officers from health department, who will work in tandem to reach out the masses.
In the meeting, suggestions from sarpanchs were also taken to cover left out eligible persons in the above 45 year age group. In this connection special camps shall also be organized at identified locations after advance intimation to the local people.
It was also decided that BDOs shall consult tehsildar concerned for lists of unvaccinated people and the details of left out population shall be provided to Nodal officers from the health department to ensure that not a single person is left out in the district.
The District Magistrate instructed all the BMOs to deploy vaccination teams in each block after sharing details with BDOs and Nodal officers for proceeding as per the action plan to be formulated by them in consultation with PRIs.
The Chief Medical Officer was instructed to arrange sufficient quantities of vaccine in all health blocks to ensure smooth drive. The meeting further decided that the ACD and the CMO shall supervise the whole exercise and submit progress-report on a daily basis.
It is pertinent to mention here that several initiatives for COVID vaccination have been taken in the district like fixed days vaccination drives, vaccination through mobile vans and this week long special camp drive is the third resort to cover 100% eligible age groups. The health care workers, AWWs, ASHA, VLWs and other front line workers have played pivotal role in launching IEC campaigns to mobilize local people for COVID vaccination.
Appreciating the Panches and Sarpanches who have already covered 100% of eligible persons, the District Magistrate impressed upon all other Sarpanches to take part in this programme enthusiastically by motivating local people for COVID vaccination till 100 % population is not covered. He said without vaccination it is not possible to defeat this deadly virus.
