Record 98% students pass in Odisha matric examination
Bhubaneswr: Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, here on Friday declared the State matriculation examination results this year with a record 98 pass percentage without conducting examination even in a single paper.
School and Mass Education minister Samir Ranjan Dash announced results at BSE office. Out of 6,29,919 students registering for this year’s examination, a total of 6,09,299 students were declared pass in different grades on basis of marks they had scored in their Class-IX half-yearly and annual examinations and the practice tests of Class-X. The State Government had cancelled this year’s examinations in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. While only 2,656 students in Regular stream passed with A1 grade, 22,131 in A2, 52,299 in B1, 94,475 in B2, 13,7014 in C, 1,51,639 in D and 1,01,796 students passed in E grade.
The BSE conducts annual matriculation examinations every year for classroom as well as correspondence course students in both Regular and Ex-regular streams.
It also conducts Madhyama examination (equivalent to matric) for Sanskrit students also. Out of 4,713 students, who had filled up forms for Madhyama examination, 4,622 students were declared pass with a whopping pass percentage of 98.07, said a release issued by BSE. The Minister while announcing results also reiterated that if any student is dissatisfied with his or her results.
