Red Cross distributes Hygiene items, PPM amongst the Migrant workers

 

SRINAGAR : Indian Red Cross Society J&K today distributed 374 hygiene kits, soaps, salt, face masks and other items to migrant laborers living on the roadsides of 90 Feet Road and on the Anantnag – Baramulla National Highway at Galandar, Pampore, Pantha Chowk, Nowgam, Bemina, HMT, Narbal and other adjacent areas.

The distribution was part of a programme to reach out to the marginalized section of society, the destitute and needy, living in far flung areas.

IRCS in recent times distributed 530 food kits to needy living in far flung areas, people whose daily earnings were affected due to Covid-19 pandemic and people living in pastures. IRCS also distributed 1028 no. of hygiene kits to women of khakroob community in Srinagar and Baramulla and also women of far-flung areas of Baramulla.

IRCS JK will continue with its efforts to reach out to the poor and needy as directed by its President, Manoj Sinha (Lt. Governor of Jammu & Kashmir).
