RED FM and boiChoi.com launches ‘Book Kar’ campaign to revive the Kolkata’s famous College Street

New Delhi: One of the largest and most awarded private radio networks in India, 93.5 RED FM has collaborated with College Street Union and boiChoi.com for its new on-air and digital book exhibition called ‘Book Kar’. Recently due to cyclone Amphan, Kolkata’s iconic College Street or Boipara was destroyed. To help the book sellers revive their lost business, RED FM launched a two-week virtual book exhibition that will digitally bring College Street to people.

RED FM has partnered with the College Street Union who are providing remaining books which will be put on BoiChoi.com, a book delivery site who have created a dedicated section to promote these books. RED FM RJs will be encouraging and requesting its listeners to support this cause through their on-air and digital shows. Some of the renowned celebrities like Anupam Roy & Ritabhari have come forward to support this campaign via digital book reading sessions and have shared their ‘boi para’ memories.

Speaking on the occasion, Nisha Narayanan, Director & COO, RED FM and Magic FM, said, “Due the recent cyclone Amphan, book sellers at Kolkata’s Boipara were one of the worst impacted, affecting livelihoods of more than a lakh people. In an endeavor to help revive this heritage of the city, our team at RED FM decided to take this issue through an on-air and digital book exhibition called ‘Book Kar’. It is a step towards bringing some hope to these book sellers.”

The pandemic has severely impacted the livelihood of many and natural disasters are just adding to this difficult phase. As a socially responsible brand, RED FM is yet again going on-air and digital with ‘Book Kar’ initiative to support the book sellers of College Street in Kolkata. This step along with the listener’s support is indeed critical for bridging the gap between the book sellers and the readers.
