Refresher course held in anaesthesiology
Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University Vice-Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor said “anaesthesia is of key importance in all branches of medicine. The department of Anaesthesiology not only caters to all the clinical departments but stands out at the front of research and academic activities”. He was addressing the inaugural session of a three-day Refresher Course in Anaesthesiology, organized by the Department of Anaesthesiology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU.
Prof Mansoor said that the department has been instrumental in establishing the simulation lab at JNMC and making the ICU in the trauma centre functional.
The three-day refresher course, “ARCAN ‘2020”, was aimed at preparing the out-going 3rd year junior residents coming from all over the country, for practical and viva voce examination.
Prof Rakesh Bhargav, Dean, Faculty of Medicine said the Department of Anaesthesia has set a benchmark through its efficient services and innovative programmes.
Prof Shahid Ali Siddiqui, Principal and CMS, appreciated the efforts of the faculty members of the department in holding the refresher course.
Earlier, welcoming the guests, Prof S Moied Ahmed (Organising Chairman) thanked the faculty members for their cooperation in the successful organization of the course. Dr Abu Nadeem highlighted (Organization Secretary) elaborated the salient features of the course with special reference to the present format of the MD exit exam.
Dr Shahna Ali conducted the programme while Prof Qazi Ehsan Ali proposed the vote of thanks.
A number of visiting faculty members from AIIMS, New Delhi, SGPGI and KGMU, Lucknow, PGI and Government Medical College, Chandigarh, PGI Rohtak, Medanta Multi-speciality Hospital, Gurgaon conducted sessions as resource persons and about 50 junior residents from different medical colleges in the country participated in the refresher course.
