Refresher Training for PTEs of Sample Registration System held at Kathua
KATHUA : A one-day Refresher Training was organized for Part Time Enumerators (PTEs) of Sample Registration System (SRS) appointed for district Kathua at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Kathua.
Pertinently, the Training programme carried out by the Office of Registrar General & Census Commissioner, India, New Delhi was taken up with an objective of providing reliable annual estimates of birth rate, death rate, infant mortality rate and various other fertility and mortality indicators.
While throwing light on the initiative, DSEO Kathua Ranjeet Thakur informed that the SRS has been serving as the main source of information on fertility and mortality both at the State and National levels, from 1971 onwards. As many as 29 Sample Units have been selected in Kathua District under Sample Registration System, he added.
The training is imparted by Assistant Director Jatinder Kumar, and SIG-II of Directorate of Census Operations, J & K, Jammu Sanjay Kumar.
