Registration of construction workers started in Ramban
Ramban: Labour Department Ramban, today started registration of construction workers under Mission Mode Project (MMP) launched by the UT Government to facilitate the labourers with various welfare schemes and financial benefits.
Under the programme, a profiling of all workers, who returned to Jammu and Kashmir during the lockdown, would be carried out to upgrade their skills to match the local jobs for securing a gainful employment.
Under the mission, the department would register the BOC workers besides activating the inactive BOC workers.
Meantime, Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC), Rakesh Arora appealed eligible people to register themselves as early as possible to avail the benefit of schemes launched by the department. The total annual registration fee is Rs. 140 including charges of registration and Passbook, he added.
He further requested to the workers to visit personally for the registration and renewal of labour cards to maintain transparency. He also impressed upon them to remain vigilant and aware from agents for any official work as this office has not authorized any individual/private agency to deal with on its behalf.
