Release of Lab Journal ‘Daur-e-Jadeed’ published by the students of IIMC

New Delhi: The Lab Journal ‘Daur-e-Jadeed’, published by the students of Urdu Journalism Department of Indian Institute of Mass Communication, was released on Tuesday by the Director General of the Institute, Prof. Sanjay Dwivedi. During this Course Director of Urdu Journalism Department Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Kumar was also present.

Prof. Sanjay Dwivedi, Director General of the IIMC, said that Indian language journalism has played a significant part in the freedom movement. Urdu journalism was a pioneer in this field. Hind Samachar’s founders and revolutionaries, such as Lala Lajpat Rai, gave it a new direction. He believes that Urdu media has advanced significantly since the country’s independence. Urdu newspapers have grown in strength as a result of the adoption of modern technology. Today Urdu media is becoming a global identity.

Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Kumar, Course Director, Department of Urdu Journalism said, Students strive to grasp the process of reporting, editing, and designing through this lab journal. IIMC seeks to give both practical and theoretical training. Such lab journals are regularly published by the students of various departments of the institute.

Dr. Afsar Ali, Academic Associate, Department of Urdu Journalism, members of the editorial team of Lab Journal Sarwar Ali, Aamna Farooq, Mohammad Sameer and Munir-ul-Islam were also present in the release ceremony.
