Renovated building of IGNOU Study Centre, E-Content Development, Cyber Security and Digital Forensic Labs inaugurated
Aligarh : The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Prof Mohammad Gulrez, along with University Registrar Mr Mohd Imran (IPS) and Prof Asim Zafar (Chairman, Department of Computer Science) inaugurated the renovated building of Indira Gandhi National Open University Study Centre (2713), E-Content Lab and Cyber Security and Digital Forensic Lab at the Department of Computer Science today.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Gulrez said IGNOU Study Centre-AMU is one of the vibrant study centres, offering its learners the state-of-the-art educational infrastructure with excellent faculty and trainer support.
Congratulating Prof Aasim Zafar for his efforts, Prof Gulrez praised the initiative taken by the department of Computer Science and said e-Content development lab and Cyber Security and Digital Forensics Lab, inaugurated today, is a timely investment. I am sure this facility will be instrumental in producing high-quality e-contents.
Appreciating the set-up of state of the art Cyber Security and Digital Forensics Lab at AMU, Registrar, Mr Mohd Imran (IPS) said it is the need of the hour and this infrastructure will promote students for higher research studies in the field of cyber security, crime and forensic investigation.
Talking about the renovated study centre, he said IGNOU serves the Indian population by means of distance and open education, providing quality higher education opportunities to all segments of society.
In his welcome address, Prof Aasim Zafar (Coordinator, IGNOU Study Centre-AMU) shared the brief history of IGNOU Study Centre and gave a glimpse of courses available offered by it. He said it is a vibrant study center and its building was in a dilapidated state and needed renovation for which he expressed gratitude to the AMU administration.
Prof Zafar highlighted objectives behind establishing E-Content lab and Cyber Security and Digital Forensic Lab, comprising high-end PCs, Server. He underscored the importance of E-Content Development in today’s academic environment.
IGNOU Regional Director, Dr Safdar Azam briefed about the various programmes run by it and AMU’s contribution in its functioning.
University officials, faculty members, staff and students attended the programme.
