Republic Day Mushaira on January 25

Aligarh: The traditional Mushaira on the eve of the Republic Day will be held at the Aligarh Muslim University on January 25, 2020 at 6.30 pm at the University Polytechnic assembly hall.

According to Professor Zafar Ahmad, Chairman, Department of Urdu, eminent poets including Mr Krishna Kumar Toor (Himachal Pradesh), Mr Farhat Ahsas (Delhi), Dr Jamal Owaisi (Darbhanga), Ms Salma Shaheen (Delhi) and Mr Sharique Kaifi (Bareilly) and a number of local poets will recite their poems at the Mushaira.

AMU Vice Chancellor Professor Tariq Mansoor will preside over the Mushaira and Prof Akhtar Haseeb, Pro-Vice Chancellor will be the chief guest.

The main Republic Day function will take place on January 26 at 9.30 am at the Strachey Hall where Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor will unfurl the national flag and take the guard of honour from NCC cadets.

Earlier in the morning, Syedna Tahir Saifuddin School will take out Prabhat Pheri at 7.45 am in which students from different schools will participate
