Research Methodology Course begins

ALIGARH : The Department of Social Work, in association with the Department of Psychology, Aligarh Muslim University, organized a 10-day Research Methodology Course at the UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, AMU, which is sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi.

In his presidential remarks, AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mohammad Gulrez emphasized university’s commitment to fostering a culture of research and innovation.

The chief guest, former Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya, Wardha, Prof. Girishwar Misra urged for the pursuit of knowledge and elevation of research standards in academic institutions. He upheld the transformative power of research and its ability to shape the intellectual landscape of society.

Prof. Mirza Asmer Beg, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Patron of the Course, stressed that research, at its core, is a quest for understanding; an exploration that transcends the boundaries of what we know and challenges us to delve into the uncharted realms of knowledge.

Earlier, welcoming the guests and participants, the Director of the Course, Prof. Naseem Ahmad Khan highlighted the objectives of the course. He said that the course marks the beginning of a transformative journey for research scholars in Social Sciences who have joined it from different parts of the country and are keen to enhancing their research skills.

Prof. Shah Mohd. Khan, Course Co-Director, explained the course design, adding that course is based on up-to-date resources and techniques, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI), necessary for carrying out research. He also extended a vote of thanks.
