Respecting Teachers: Inspiring the Future – A Tribute to Teachers in Gujarat on Teachers Day
Gandhinagar: In a heartfelt celebration of Teachers Day, Gujarat Council on Science & Technology (GUJCOST), an esteemed institution working under the aegis of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Gujarat, paid homage to the unsung heroes of our society – our beloved teachers. Dr. Narottam Sahoo, Advisor and Member Secretary of GUJCOST, expressed the profound importance of educators who ignite the flame of curiosity in young minds and guide them towards the path of knowledge and wisdom.
“Teachers are the backbone and pillars of our society,” said Dr. Sahoo, highlighting the invaluable contributions they make to the growth and development of individuals and communities alike.
GUJCOST, known for its commitment to innovative solutions in education, hosted a special program titled “Respecting Teachers: Inspiring the Future,” aimed at bringing together educators from various boards and categories, including primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools from the state government, Kendriya Vidyalaya Samit, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, and Tribal schools. The event, held virtually, witnessed the participation of 560 dedicated teachers.
The core philosophy of GUJCOST revolves around the belief that those who face educational challenges firsthand often possess the most profound solutions. This commitment drives their endeavours to celebrate and empower teachers and the teaching profession.
Dr. Poonam Bhargava, Principal Scientific Officer at GUJCOST, warmly welcomed the participating teachers and delivered an enlightening presentation on the various teacher training programs. These programs span a range of themes, from environmental education to cutting-edge space and technology, from hands-on demonstrations to minds-on exposures, all designed to equip teachers with the knowledge and tools necessary to inspire the next generation.
During the program, teachers shared their insights into best teaching and learning practices, offering a platform for the exchange of experiences and ideas that have enriched the learning journeys of countless students.
In a heartfelt gesture of appreciation, all participating teachers were declared as brand ambassadors of GUJCOST. Their role is to inform and disseminate information about GUJCOST’s flagship programs among their students. Additionally, they will be invited to participate in special training and orientation programs at the state and national levels.
The event was skilfully coordinated by a team of dedicated professionals, including Shri Pavit Shah, Scientific Officer, Dr. Sangeeta Rathod, Ms. Zhalak Chouhan, Dr. Akanksha Verma, Shri Kaushik Patel, all Technical Assistants at GUJCOST.
