Results of the All-Russian Library Congress
The All-Russian Library Congress, which took place in Petrozavodsk, has finished its work. The program of the congress was very eventful: meetings of 31 sections, 6 round tables, seminars took place. The sections worked at different sites in a face-to-face and distance format.
Petrozavodsk State University hosted: a joint meeting of the section “Libraries of higher educational institutions” and the section “Agricultural libraries”, a round table “Bibliographic and archaeographic source study in libraries, archives and museums”, a round table “Libraries and Genealogy”, a training seminar on genealogical source studies on the topic “The main published and archival sources of information on prosopography, genealogy and family history”, scientific conference “Genealogy and history of families of the Russian North”.

The Administration of the Scientific Library of PetrSU thanks the staff of the University, who organized technical and advertising support for the work of the sections of the All-Russian Library Congress, which took place at the University. These are employees of the RCNIT, the Trade Union Organization of Students, the Media Center, the Press Service, the Scientific Library, student soloists of the Toive folk music ensemble.
Summing up the results of the congress, Mikhail Dmitrievich Afanasyev, President of the Russian Library Association, noted that no congress has gathered such a large audience, which will expand thanks to video recordings:
We have never had such a wide regional representation and such a wide international participation.
In 2021, the PetrSU Publishing House will publish the book “Selected Reports of the Participants of the All-Russian Library Congress”.
