Results of the competition of videos about Karelia
The results of the competition of videos about Karelia in English “Invitation to Karelia: A Videoguide to Its Life”, which took place from May 3 to May 30 under the guidance of I.V. Chepurina.
One of the main goals of the competition is to acquaint foreign tourists with Karelian life. The idea of the competition has a broader perspective – the creation of a video guide about Karelia in English. This, in turn, led to the attraction of foreign jury members:
Majid Bahrevar – PhD, Associate Professor, teacher of literature at the University of Iran, children’s writer, poet;
Pekka Mononen – athlete, former delegate of the Finnish Red Cross, who worked in Karelia in 1999-2000;
David Leung is a Hong Kong businessman working in the translation business.
The jury also included teachers from the Department of Germanic Philology and Scandinavian Studies:

Lukashevich Maria Vasilievna, senior lecturer;
Fedorova Irina Vladimirovna, senior lecturer;

The videos of the participants are a great start for creating a unified video guide about Karelia, which will present not only interesting and useful information for tourists from different angles and narrative techniques, but will also feel the soul of the Karelian people,
