Results of the regional stage of the All-Russian competition of video clips iTravel
As part of the activities of the National Association of English Language Teachers (NAPAYaz), the All-Russian competition of videos in English “iTravel: Russia” has been held for the third year.
The regional stage of the competition, organized by the Karelian Association of English Language Teachers (KarELTA), the Institute of Foreign Languages of PetrSU, secondary school No. 3, has come to an end. Tikhomirova (Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages of Natural and Technical Directions and Specialties of PetrSU), I.V. Lebedeva (Deputy Director for Water Resources Management, Secondary School No. 3).
This academic year the competition is called Peculiarities of 2020. My Experience . The topic involves the creation of a video about your own experience in solving personal, academic (educational), everyday problems in a pandemic. The goals and objectives of the competition are: expanding the horizons of students and their knowledge of global international problems; increasing the communicative competence and socio-cultural competence of students; identification of talented students, their support and encouragement; activation of initiative and development of students’ creative abilities; development of network professional cooperation of English language teachers; attracting the attention of Russians and foreign citizens to problems of a global and local nature.
The competition is aimed at students of general education schools, gymnasiums, lyceums, as well as students of special and higher educational institutions.
The expert commission of the regional stage of the competition for checking and evaluating the competition materials included L.Yu. Kukharev, Art. Lecturer at the Department of English at the Institute of Foreign Languages; S.A. Filon, Art. Lecturer at the Department of English at the Institute of Foreign Languages; I.V. Lebedeva, Deputy Director for Water Resources Management, Secondary School No. 3.
When evaluating the materials submitted for the competition, the compliance with the topic and the completeness of its disclosure were taken into account; originality; quality of language support; artistic and technical level of presentation of the material.
The places of the winners were distributed as follows:
1st place – Olga Zholudeva, 1st year, IEP, PetrSU, (supervisor L.N. Yusupova, senior lecturer). Video title: “ My year of 2020”.
2nd place – Anastasia Sharoeva, 2 course, Institute of Economics, PetrSU, (supervisor OM Sherekhova, associate professor).
3rd place – Maria Kachamina, Daniil Dergachev, Daria Surkova, 2 course, IEP, PetrSU, (supervisor T.M. Tatarina, associate professor). Video title: “ Interviews: life of students during a pandemic” .
The winners will receive certificates of participation in the competition. Competitive works will be sent to participate in the all-Russian stage, which have received a recommendation from the expert jury. We congratulate the winners of the regional stage, their leaders and wish them further creative success!
