Retired Chief Justice speaks in Malappuram Centre webinar

Aligarh: Superannuated Justice of Allahabad High Court, Mr ZakiUllah Khan discussed access to courts and legal processes as an essential ingredient of the rule of law in the webinar on ‘The Rule of Law and Access to Justice’ of the Department of Law, Malappuram Centre, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

He elaborated how justice helps uphold the rule of law, the purpose of the rule of law and justice, human rights and how the law is clear, publicised and stable and is applied evenly to the government as well as private actors.

“By adhering to laws, we deliver timely and quality justice as written in our Constitution and reinforce public confidence in the justice administration system,” said Justice ZakiUllah Khan.

Dr Shahnawaz Ahmad Malik emphasised that the basic component of the rule of law is that the supremacy of law should prevail over supremacy of individuals.

Ghalib Nashter delivered the welcome address.

Dr Naseema PK extended the vote of thanks.

Sadef Sheikh, Syed Mohammad Ibrahim Quli, IlmaSabeel and Kamran Tauheed were instrumental in conducting the webinar, attended by 149 participants.
