‘Revised Basic Course Workshop’ for Medical Teachers
Aligarh: The Medical Education Unit (MEU) of the Faculty of Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University, under the leadership of Prof Rakesh Bhargava, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, and Prof Seema Hakim Coordinator, MEU successfully conducted Revised Basic Course Workshop & AETCOM in Medical Education Technologies under the auspices of NMC, Regional Centre in MET Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Dehradun.
The thrust of the three-day workshop, attended by thirty faculty members from various departments of JNMC was to sensitize the teachers to teach and train medical students as per Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME), according to GMER 2019, to become competent doctors with empathy and ethical values.
Prof Rakesh Bhargava inaugurated the workshop which was supervised by Prof Vinay Sharma from Muzaffarnagar Medical College, Muzaffarnagar as an observer from National Medical Commission.
Resource persons included Prof Seema Hakim, Coordinator MEU, Prof S Manazir Ali, Co-coordinator MEU, Prof Shagufta Moin, Prof Saira Mehnaz, Dr. Nasreen Noor, Dr Fatima Khan, Dr. Ruhi Khan, Dr. Ali Jafar Abedi, Dr. Sufia Naseem, Dr. Bushra Siddiqui and Dr. Ummul Baneen, members of MEU, JNMC.
The workshop provided valuable guidance for the Medical Education of MBBS and MD/MS students.
At the end of the workshop on the 3rd Day, Prof Rakesh Bhargava distributed certificates among the participants, while Prof Vinay Sharma delivered certificates to all resource persons.
Prof Saira Mehnaz, Member MEU, Department of Community Medicine proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Bushra Siddiqui conducted the valedictory session.
