Rice University’s women’s track and field team puts up great showing at UH

The Rice women’s track and field team had another great showing in the last meet before next weeks conference championships, with multiple event titles and top finishes at the Tom Tellez Invitational at the University of Houston.

Lina Spjut had a huge day on the track, taking both the 1500m and 3000m titles while Savannah Simms grabbed the 400m hurdles event title. Elena Siemens was the pole vault champion while Josie Taylor won the high jump. Mckyla Van der Westhuizen grabbed the javelin title.
