Ripu Daman Bevli along citizens across the country took the pledge for a Litter Free India on the 151st Gandhi Jayanti
New Delhi: After the launch of Fit India movement last year by PM Modi where he urged the people of the country to make fitness their lifestyle. This year on the 151st Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, a FIT India Plog Run was held today. According to FIT India, over 1 crore people participated across the country. Ripu himself completed a 2Km run which began from Lodhi Garden. He interacted with several participants online to encourage groups to take the pledge and follow all covid precautions.This year due to COVID, this plog run was held virtually where the Citizens from across the country participated close to their homes keeping all covid precautions in mind.

In his words, ‘Today, it gives me immense pleasure to see the response of huge numbers from across the country especially schools and colleges. It was different this time. And we wanted to figure out how to make it impactful and long-lasting.’
He further added that imagine if 1-2 crore Indians pledged to not litter. That is almost 1% of our huge population. Our endeavor is to get every citizen to be a part of the solution – to not litter. This would be the best tribute to our Beloved Bapu.
More than 1 crore Fitness enthusiasts & Citizens across the country today ran on their own routes and own pace thus tracking their distance using a GPS watch. The First FIT India Plog Run on October 2nd 2019 was a huge success. Close to 40L people across 62000 locations participated on the day. The Honorable Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju along with Ripu Daman Bevli flagged off the event from IG Stadium, New Delhi. In 2019, Ripu Daman Bevli embarked on a campaign ‘ Run to Make India Litter Free’ where he ran and cleaned up across 50 cities across the country in 2 months. An unprecedented cleanup campaign anywhere in the world. He was lauded for his contributions to the country by Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Mann Ki Baat on September 29, 2019. And the Government of India adopted his mission under the FIT India initiative. He was honored with the titles of FIT India Ambassador and Plogman of India.
