Road Safety Month 2021: MVD Rajouri spreads awareness among public, stakeholders
Rajouri: As a part of the National Road Safety month, the teams of Motor Vehicle Department Rajouri today visited to different areas of the district and interacted with the drivers, cleaners and general public to inform them about road safety rules.
The awareness drive led by Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Inzar Rana was conducted under the overall supervision of the District Development Commissioner, Rajesh K Shavan.
The ARTO, while interacting with the public, asked them to follow the road safety norms to minimize the mishaps. He said that traffic rules are meant for the prevention and protection of road accidents. He said that use of mobile phones , stunting, use of beams during night and non use of seat belts are common offences which can be easily avoided. He urged upon the drivers to be mindful of their responsibilities while driving> He urged them to observe self restraint in following the speed limits as it is a way forward towards changing driving behaviours.
The team also distributed 50 helmets to the people found riding two wheelers without headgears.
