Rs 57 lakh provided as education assistance to wards of registered workers in Samba

SAMBA : District administration Samba today provided Rs 57 lakh as education assistance to wards of the registered workers of the district.

Fifty Seven Lakh six hundred, (57,00,600) was provided as education assistance to the wards of 660 registered construction workers through Bank transfer under the scheme of J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB).

The funds were released by Deputy Commissioner Anuradha Gupta and said the welfare scheme implemented by the Labour Department provides financial assistance to registered construction workers for the education of their children and welfare of their families.

While elaborating on the initiatives of the Labour Department, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Ranjeet Singh said the education assistance is transferred into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through DBT. He also asked the labourers to renew their labour cards to continue to take benefit of the individual beneficiary oriented schemes of the department.
