Rus Education organized Sobraniye 2024: The Pre-Departure Ceremony for Indian Students
New Delhi : Rus Education proudly organized the grand pre-departure ceremony: Sobraniye 2024, marking a significant milestone for Indian students embarking on their MBBS journey in Russia. The event held at Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi was a celebration of academic achievements and a heartfelt send-off for the students as they prepare to begin a new chapter in their lives.
The event was graced by the presence of our esteemed delegates who made the event more grandeur including Dr. Mironchev Anton– Dean at Orenburg State Medical University, Ms. Olga Kroshkina– Representative of the Russian House in New Delhi, Ms. Elena Barman– Head of Education Department at Russian House in New Delhi, and Shri Nirmal Kumar Bhagat– Director at NITI Aayog.
The event also features some of the well-known personalities in the medical field including Lt. Gen. Bipin Puri (Retd.)– PVSM, VSM (Retd.) Director of Medical Services (North Zone), Apollo Group of Hospitals; Lt Gen. (Dr.) A K Das, PVSM (Retd.) – Group Medical Director, Marengo Asia Hospitals; Dr. Abhijeet Sheth– M.S., M.Ch., FRCS (Glasgow), Director of Medical Services (North India), Apollo Group of Hospitals; Dr. Vanita Mittal– General Manager Academics, Max Institute of Medical Excellence; Max Health Care; Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Singh– Medical Director, Amrita Hospital, Faridabad; Air Marshal (Dr) Pawan Kapoor (Retd)– Technical Advisor, Rus Education; Dr. Dinesh Singla– Director, Rus Education, and Dr. Mohd. The event commenced with a traditional Lamp lighting ceremony followed by a warm welcome address by Dr. Abhijeet Sheth- M.S., M.Ch., FRCS (Glasgow), Director of Medical Services (North India), Apollo Group of Hospitals. In his address, he offered invaluable insights to young aspiring doctors and guided them for a bright future ahead. He congratulated the students and parents on their new journey and expressed immense pride as students chose to pursue their medical education in Russia. Sobraniye 2024 is not just a ceremony; it’s a celebration of their hard work and a stepping stone towards their bright future. He further added, “Education has no boundaries. However, there are expectations that you have to follow in Russia. Have great courage, great passion, in whatever you do and especially in the medical field.” He conveyed his wishes to all the students as they are ready to embark on their medical journey in Russia.
Moreover, the event moved ahead with an articulate speech by Air Marshal (Dr.) Pawan Kapoor (Retd.), Technical Advisor at Rus Education. He provided valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities that students will encounter while pursuing MBBS in Russia.
Subsequently, Lt. Gen. Bipin Puri (Retd.)– PVSM, VSM (Retd.) Director of Medical Services (North Zone), Apollo Group of Hospitals, shared a very important message encouraging students. He stated “Learn the art and science of Medicine. However, being a Doctor is not just learning about sciences but also being a good listener, empathetic, and to be able to communicate well with your patients and their attendants. He further stated that the Golden Virtue to develop as a medical student is to be ethical, dedicated and persevered.
Other distinguished guests took the stage to share their insights and encouragement. Each speaker brought a unique perspective, reflecting on the importance of perseverance, dedication, and innovation in today’s ever-changing world of medicine.
The Sobraniye 2024 pre-departure ceremony, organized by Rus Education, celebrated the achievements of Indian students preparing to embark on their MBBS journey in Russia. During this inspiring event, meritorious students were awarded several prestigious scholarships: the BADHTE KADAM Scholarship in memory of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the UDAAN Scholarship in honor of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the DRUZHBA Scholarship in commemoration of the late H.E. Mr. Alexander Mikhailovich Kadakin, and the AYUSHMAN BHARAT Scholarship. These scholarships not only provide vital financial support but also motivate students to excel in their medical careers as they prepare to make a meaningful impact in the field of medicine.
The event was a rollercoaster of emotions, ranging from exuberant enthusiasm to heartfelt tears of happiness. During the sessions, some parents took the opportunity to express their joy about sending their children abroad for education. They were grateful to Rus Education for providing expert guidance in selecting top-notch universities in Russia. They are eagerly anticipating their children’s future success.

Over the next three days, 300 students will commence their academic journeys at esteemed Russian medical institutions, including Perm State Medical University and Orenburg State Medical University. We take great pride in facilitating these students as they pursue their medical careers.
