RWTH: Aachen Hydrogen Colloquium takes place for the first time
Future Cluster Hydrogen from RWTH and Forschungszentrum Jülich organizes an international conference.
The Aachen Hydrogen Colloquium will take place for the first time on May 3rd and 4th, 2022. The Future Cluster Hydrogen from RWTH Aachen University and Forschungszentrum Jülich has invited scientists from Germany and abroad to Aachen. During the event, they will discuss research results on various hydrogen technologies. These include the generation of hydrogen through electrolysis or biological pathways, storage and transport of hydrogen, and use in the mobility sector and in industry. Effects on the environment, economy and society are also on the agenda.
In 2021, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) selected the future cluster hydrogen as one of the seven winners of the “Clusters4Future” initiative. The focus of the cluster is the development of new fields of innovation and the search for solutions for the challenges of the future. RWTH and Forschungszentrum Jülich jointly initiated the application for the future cluster, and RWTH professor Stefan Pischinger is now coordinating the collaboration.
“I am convinced that hydrogen as a chemical energy carrier can and must make a major contribution to the energy transition. Through research, innovation and the exchange with industry and society, we can drive the growth of green hydrogen in Germany and internationally. Because our goal is clear – the development of a sustainable, climate-neutral hydrogen economy,” says Pischinger.
