RWTH Aachen University: CHE ranking certifies RWTH Aachen top positions in biology, chemistry and computer science

The ranking of the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE) for the subjects biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, computer science, geography, geosciences, political science, medicine and dentistry has now been published in the ZEIT study guide.

The basis is a student survey on the course, the equipment of the university and the teachers. The students rate their university from “1 – very good” to “6 – very bad”, and the assessments are then combined into various indicators. The universities are divided into top, middle and bottom groups for each indicator.

In the current ranking, the RWTH in biology, chemistry and computer science is in the top group in all published criteria.

When assessing the overall study situation, the students at Aachen University give good grades. Medicine stand out with a rating of 1.5 and computer science with 1.6. The organization of exams, the equipment of the rooms and the scientific relevance of the course were also rated positively.

In addition to the judgments of the students, some facts are also included in the evaluation of the courses. When it comes to the indicator “Support at the beginning of a course”, RWTH is in the top group across all subjects. The four assessment aspects of competency alignment / competency development, orientation, flexibility and support / advice are taken into account.

The data on the degrees in the bachelor’s degree programs are also convincing in a reasonable amount of time: RWTH students in the subjects examined finish their bachelor’s degree particularly quickly compared to students at other German universities.
